Invoice organizer for Windows

The folder where invoices land is always called something like "Downloads" or "Scans", and it always ends up with forty files named IMG_2043.pdf.

What the app does with a new file

  1. Watches a folder you choose.
  2. Reads the document - text layer if there is one, OCR if it is a scan.
  3. Pulls out the date, the other party and the amount.
  4. Renames the file to match (date, party, amount) and moves it into a year/month folder.
  5. Queues anything it is not sure about for review instead of guessing.

Why the review queue matters more than the automation

Automatic filers fail in one specific way: they put a document in the wrong place confidently. A tool that shows you "this one I could not read - date or amount missing" costs you ten seconds; a tool that silently renames it costs you an afternoon at tax time. DocuShelf keeps the uncertain files in a review list and lets you file them by hand.

Undo, by batch

Every run is a batch you can roll back, so a wrong rule applied to 200 files is one click to reverse rather than 200 manual moves.

What it is not

Free plan handles a limited number of documents; the Pro unlock (one-time, $4.99) removes the limit and adds the watch folder automation.

Questions

Does it work with scanned paper invoices?

Yes, via OCR. Scans read worse than digital PDFs, which is exactly why the review queue exists.

Can I choose the naming pattern?

The rename follows the extracted date, party and amount; the target folder structure is year/month.

Where are my documents kept?

Wherever you keep them. Nothing is uploaded.
